The Hunter region covers the area from approximately 150 kilometres north of Sydney up the coast for 200 kilometres while extending a few hundred kilometres inland. Regional attractions include pristine beaches, mountain ranges, rainforests, horse studs, historic communities and world-famous vineyards.

Newcastle, Australia's seventh largest city, is the capital of the Hunter region. Newcastle offers all the benefits and amenities of a large city but with all the friendliness of a regional town. Newcastle City has a population of around 150,000 with the Hunter Region home to over 500,000 people.
